  • Description: Legendary nightlife impresarios Nicola Siervo, Karim Masri, Rony Seikaly and Linley Edwards have combined forces to create an unparalleled atmosphere. Inspired by Mokai, a canyon in New Zealand made famous by extreme sports and the backdrop for “Lord of the Rings” and “King Kong”, the venue evokes an experience that flawlessly integrates a rich, dark, elegant and creative decor.

Nicola Siervo, (co-founder of Mynt and Rok Bar and partner in Metro Kitchen + Bar) has created a nightlife and entertainment dream team, bringing together Rony Seikaly, (former NBA star and partner at Mynt Group), Linley Edwards (of Mynt), and Karim Masri, (owner of Hotel Astor and partner at Metro Kitchen + Bar). The creative energy will attract A-list celebrities that have known to frequent and follow their projects, including Cameron Diaz, Lenny Kravitz, Justin Timberlake, P.Diddy, Leonardo DiCaprio and Enrique Iglesias. Not only a place to see and be seen, Mokai will allow celebrities to hold court in an intimate and chic atmosphere.

Catering to VIPs and a high-end clientele, Mokai offers bottle service and a select tasting menu until 5am. The entire Mokai staff is outfitted in HUGO by Hugo Boss uniforms. Mokai occupies approximately 4,000-square-feet, and is located at 235 23rd Street on the corner of Collins Avenue. This emerging area of Collins Avenue is becoming a destination, as it will also be home to New York famed Gansevoort Hotel, W Hotel, Mr. Chow restaurant and other high-end shops and restaurants. Unique to Mokai is a private parking area, where patrons can self-park without having to wait hours for valet service.

Designed by Studio A in New York, the completely renovated space represents an uninhibited sexuality, but with a seductive and sophisticated allure. The decor boasts a striking array of vibrant colors and textures. There is a contrast of materials from stone and alligator skins to wooden organic shaped stools and ottomans that give an animalistic flavor to the space. Layers of metal coil drapery will subtly hang in areas of the lounge giving a sense of voyeurism. The space evokes a unique exclusivity, intentionally designed to feel like oneÂ’s own living room.

Mokai offers a unique approach towards lounge atmosphere with high-energy appeal and a vibrant ambiance. Music appeals to all patrons, with a mix of rock & roll, hip-hop and house. Open six nights a week, Mokai sets new standards in nightlife.
